9th Workshop on Artificial Organs, Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering
The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs is a scientific event organized in cooperation with the Sociedade Latino-Americana de Biomateriais e Órgãos Artificiais - SLABO and hosted by the Universidade de Araraquara - Uniara, bringing together researchers, faculty members, professionals, and students dedicated to the fields of Biomaterials, Regenerative Medicine, Tissue engineering, and Biomedical Devices. This year, the event will be held at Hotel Transamérica Araraquara on August 6 and 7, 2026.
Designed as a high-level scientific forum, OBI aims to promote discussion of theoretical, experimental, and translational advances, fostering integration between basic research, technological development, and clinical applications. The event convenes national and international experts, strengthening collaborative research networks and expanding opportunities for academic cooperation and innovation.
The scientific program includes plenary lectures, thematic sessions, oral presentations, and poster sessions, creating a dynamic environment for the dissemination of novel findings, methodological exchange, and in-depth technical discussions in strategic areas such as:

The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara will be structured as a scientific workshop, prioritizing participant interaction, in-depth discussion of strategic topics, and integration across different areas of expertise.

As part of the scientific proposal of the OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara, five thematic short courses will be offered on August 5, the day preceding the official opening of the event.
This initiative aims to strengthen the educational character of the workshop, providing participants with the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in strategic areas, explore advanced methodological approaches, and enhance the integration between basic research, technological development, and translational application.
The short courses have a limited number of available seats (specified in the information about each course), which will be filled according to the chronological order of registration. Enrollment in a short course will only be validated upon confirmation of payment of both the event registration fee and the short course fee (R$25.00 - twenty-five reais) by the Organizing Committee.

Guests (accompanying persons) may participate exclusively in the event’s social activities. Access to scientific activities and short courses, event materials, and certificate issuance are not included.
Participation by guests is subject to the payment of a R$150.00 fee via PIX, at the registration desk upon arrival at the event.
Group registration is available for the Undergraduate Student and Graduate Student categories. For every five (5) confirmed registrations, one (1) complimentary registration will be granted to a member of the group.
Each participant must complete their registration individually through the regular event registration system.
After all group members have completed their registrations, a message should be sent to the OBI/Uniara Organizing Committee at obi@uniara.com.br, providing the full name of each participant and identifying the individual who will receive the complimentary registration.
The complimentary registration will be confirmed by the Organizing Committee after verification of all registrations and the corresponding payments.

The OBI - Biomaterials and Artificial Organs/Uniara invites researchers, faculty members, and students to submit scientific papers aligned with the event´s thematic areas.
Submitting a paper provides an opportunity to disseminate scientific results, exchange experiences, and engage with the academic community working in the fields of biomaterials, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, and biomedical technologies.
Registration for abstract submission is free of charge.
Papers must be submitted via the electronic form available through the link provided at the bottom of this page.
The deadline for paper submission is July 10.
Abstracts must be written in English, and each author may submit and present up to 2 (two) papers as the presenting/main author. There is no limit for participation as a co-author.

Poster Presentation
Posters may be presented in Portuguese, Spanish, or English.
Recommended dimensions: 90 cm x 120 cm (vertical format).
Students who wish to compete for the Best Scientific Paper Award must indicate this option at the time of submission.
To be eligible for the award, an extended abstract must be submitted following a specific template, which will be provided after the paper is accepted.

The award ceremony will take place during the closing session, and the presenting author must be present.
Abstracts accepted and presented at the event will be made available in digital format in an issue of the scientific journal International Journal of Advances in Medical Biotechnology (IJAMB), accessible via the official website.
Additional information regarding potential publication opportunities associated with the event will be announced in due course.
Registration for abstract submission is mandatory and does not replace the required registration for participation in the event. After your abstract has been accepted, participants must also complete their event registration in order to present their work and participate in the event activities.
The Poster Session is one of the most important components of the scientific program of the OBI – Biomaterials and Artificial Organs | UNIARA. In addition to providing an opportunity to disseminate research findings, this session encourages direct interaction among authors, researchers, students, and professionals, fostering scientific discussion, the exchange of knowledge, and the development of new collaborations. The active participation of the presenting authors is essential to enrich scientific debate and contribute to the success of the event.

The award aims to encourage scientific excellence, innovation, methodological rigor, and the dissemination of high-quality research conducted by undergraduate and graduate students.
Participation in the award is voluntary and available to authors who selected this option during abstract submission.
The OBI Scientific Excellence Award is based on a comprehensive, multi-stage evaluation process designed to recognize research of exceptional scientific quality.
